Here's another of my very favourite child actors. I thought that Lucas was superb in "American Gothic" and once again he was quite outstanding in "Sling Blade". One of Lucas's particular strengths is the way that he reacts and relates to the class adult actors that he has around him. Far from being intimidated by the ability of these highly experienced actors, he positively relishes the challenge. Lucas also brings a style (and accent) that is quite unique to him. He has a particular laid back relaxation to his acting that is the mark of a true talent and no scene ever seems to phase him, whether it is taking on the demonic sheriff in "American Gothic" or hurling just about everything in the room at the drunk psychopath in "Sling Blade", this guy can handle it all. If you haven't seen "American Gothic" or "Sling Blade", then go out now and view them immediately, I promise you that won't be disappointed. Does anyone know what Lucas is up to these days?
